Lost Origin: the most expensive Pokémon cards

The ranking of the most expensive Lost Origin cards with live prices: the Giratina V is worth 990 euro, the same card without the artwork is worth one.

Versione italiana: leggila qui.

Lost Origin came out on 9 September 2022 and it is the Giratina set. Its signature card, the Giratina V #186, costs 990.09 €: almost half the value of the entire set, and six hundred times the same card without the full-page artwork.

We ran every card in the set through the DarkDex pricing engine and sorted by value. These are real single-card prices, Near Mint, the lowest available across sellers, updated on 7 September 2026.

In short. Giratina V #186 at 990.09 €, Aerodactyl V #180 at 203.20 €, then the Trainer Gallery with Pikachu V TG16 at 153.80 €. The top three are 65% of the set. Completing everything costs 2,066.32 €; without the top three, 719. Prices as of 7 September 2026.

The Giratina V #186, and three faces of one card

The Giratina V exists in three printings inside Lost Origin, and it is the most extreme comparison we have measured inside a single set:

CardNumberPrice
Giratina V (alternate art)#186990.09 €
Giratina V (full art)#18511.21 €
Giratina V#1301.54 €

Six hundred times between the first and the third. Same card, same rules text, same everything: one of them is drawn full-page with Giratina emerging from the Distortion World.

⚠️ The whole drop sits between the first and the second printing: from #186 to #185 you lose 98.9% of the price without changing a word of what the card does in play.

The same pattern repeats on the Aerodactyl V: 203.20 € for the alternate art (#180), 2.40 € for the full art (#179), 79 cents for the ordinary one (#093).

The cards that actually win games cost eleven cents

Lost Origin gave the competitive game one of the longest-lived decks of the past few years, the one built around the Lost Zone. The cards that make it work cost this much today:

CardNumberPrice
Comfey#0790.12 €
Sableye#0700.11 €
Colress's Experiment#1550.11 €
Mirage Gate#1630.11 €
Giratina VSTAR#1311.54 €

The Giratina VSTAR, meaning the card you actually put into play to win, costs one euro fifty. The Giratina V alternate art, which does not even go into the deck because an identical version exists for a euro and a half, costs nine hundred and ninety.

👉 It is the cleanest separation you will find between the two things people call a "rare card": what you need to play and what you want to look at. In this set the first list costs two euro and the second costs over a thousand.

Lost Origin contains thirty cards numbered TG, where Pokémon appear alongside trainers. They are worth 601.35 € together, nearly a third of the set, and hold five of the top ten places.

The detail worth noticing: the Pikachu TG05 costs 50.94 €, while the ordinary Pikachu of the same set costs a few cents. It is not technically a rare card, TCGdex classes it as Rare: it is a common card with artwork people want on a wall.

What is the rarest card in Lost Origin

There is no official answer, because pull rates are not published. If you mean the signature card, it is the Giratina V #186. If you mean the printing that closes the numbering, it is Lost Vacuum #217, a tool card at 2.52 €.

How many cards does Lost Origin have

The set has 196 official cards, reaches 217 with the special printings and adds the 30 Trainer Gallery cards: 248 printings in all.

What it costs to complete Lost Origin

Adding up the cheapest Near Mint copy of each of the 248 cards: 2,066.32 €. As always the total hides the shape:

  • take out the top three and the other 245 cards cost 719.23 €
  • take out the top ten and 392.63 € is left
  • the median card costs 14 cents, and 167 of 248 are under one euro
  • the complete Trainer Gallery costs 601.35 €

In practice you spend more: shipping goes on top and the cards come from different sellers.

Heads up. Prices move constantly, and on an out-of-print set they move in jumps. These numbers are a snapshot of the market on 7 September 2026.

Lost Origin is third, in a specific family of sets: the ones with a single phenomenon card. The comparison that makes it clear is Evolving Skies, which has the most expensive card of all: there the top card weighs less, because it has forty other cards above ten euro around it. Lost Origin has nineteen.

Singles or sealed

The set has been out of print since 2023 and sealed product costs whatever the people holding it decide. Chasing the #186 through packs means going after one card in 248 while paying collector prices for the box.

Singles let you read the price before you spend it, and on 237 of the 248 cards that price is under twenty euro.

How to keep an eye on them

On DarkDex you add your Lost Origin cards to your collection and the value updates itself, with every variant kept separate. In a set where the same card is worth one euro or nine hundred depending on the printing, knowing which one you have is the whole difference.
