Perfect Order: the most expensive Pokémon cards

Perfect Order is the third main expansion in the Mega Evolution series, released on 27 March 2026. It is the most balanced set in the whole block, and for once the name got it right.

The signature card is Mega Zygarde ex, but something happens here that does not happen elsewhere in the series: the gold version beats the full-art one. The Gold Secret Rare (#124) sits at €91.28, the Special Illustration Rare (#120) at €48.64, almost half. And in second place, ahead of both Zygarde illustrations, there is a Meowth.

We ran all 124 cards in the set through the DarkDex pricing engine and ranked them by value: real prices for singles in Near Mint condition, updated to 12 August 2026. Graded copies are excluded.

In short. Perfect Order is the most affordable set in the Mega Evolution series: no card breaks €100. At the top, Mega Zygarde ex Gold Secret Rare (#124) at €91.28, then Meowth ex (#121) at €80.64 and Mega Zygarde ex Special Illustration Rare (#120) at €48.64. Prices as of 12 August 2026.

The ranking: the 10 most expensive cards

Ten rows, and they line up almost exactly with every card in the set above €9. Just outside the table sits the Full Art Mega Starmie ex at €7.14, then you drop to €5.11 and the ranking flattens fast into values that no longer answer the question.

These are the cards people buy boxes for. Add them to your collection on DarkDex and track their value day by day.

The set with no thousand-euro card

This is worth pausing on, because it is what sets Perfect Order apart from the rest of the series. In the other sets in the block the top card runs between €185 and €620. Here the peak is €91.28.

That does not mean the set is worth less: it means the value is better distributed. The top three cards cover 47% of the set's total value, against 69% for Chaos Rising and 91% for Phantasmal Flames. Six cards sit above €30, more than any other expansion in the series.

For collectors on a budget that is the difference between a reachable goal and a card you chase for a year. For pack openers it means disappointment is less likely, but the jackpot is not there either.

The €80 Meowth

Second place is the surprise of the set: Meowth ex (#121) at €80.64, ahead of the Special Illustration Rare of Mega Zygarde, the expansion's cover creature.

It is a useful reminder of how pricing actually works. Meowth is not legendary, is not the mascot of the set and does not dominate competitive play. But it is enormously popular, the artwork is among the best in the block, and the print is rare. The market pays for that combination, not for the creature's role in the set's story.

The same Meowth ex also exists as a Full Art (#107) at €16.27, seventh in the ranking, and as a base print worth a few cents.

The many versions of Mega Zygarde ex

Mega Zygarde ex appears in four prints inside the set, and the spread is the widest in the expansion:

• base print (#047): €0.11
• Full Art (#104): €4.61
• Special Illustration Rare (#120): €48.64
• Gold Secret Rare (#124): €91.28, the most expensive card in the set

That is an 830x difference from first to last. The creature does not set the price, the print does: collector number, rarity and finish. This is why eyeballing a collection does not work, and why DarkDex keeps each variant's price separate.

Same story for Rosa's Encouragement, which runs from €0.11 to €41.64 (378x), and Mega Clefable ex, from €0.11 to €40.50 (368x).

What it costs to complete Perfect Order

Buying every card in the set at the lowest Near Mint price, one at a time, costs roughly €470. As always, the total hides the structure:

• the top three cards cost €221, which is 47% of the total
• the set's median card is €0.11: half the set costs eleven cents
• 89 of 124 cards, 72% of the set, are under one euro

Which means you reach a practically complete set for about €250, and the rest is three cards. For comparison, a Perfect Order Booster Box costs €129.64 and an Elite Trainer Box €39.52: opening sealed product is fun, but if the goal is finishing the set, singles remain the shorter path.

As always this is a theoretical floor: minimums from different sellers, shipping excluded, counting only cards with at least one listing. In reality you spend more, but the order of magnitude holds.

Where Perfect Order sits in the series

We ran all six sets in the Mega Evolution series through the pricing engine, so this comparison rests on numbers rather than impressions:

The picture is clear: Perfect Order is the cheapest set to complete in the entire series, and by some margin it has the most accessible headline card. Where the other expansions peak between €185 and €620, here you stay under a hundred.

It is the set we would recommend to anyone who wants to finish a complete collection without chasing one card for months. It is also the one that best illustrates what a "balanced" set means: six cards above €30 instead of two, and a tail that declines gradually instead of collapsing.

The flip side is that there is no jackpot. Anyone opening packs hoping for the five-hundred-euro card will not find it in Perfect Order, because it does not exist.

Singles or packs?

It depends on what you are after, and it is worth being honest about the difference. Packs are bought for the fun of opening them: the expected value of a box is almost always below the price of the box, and it makes sense only if the opening is part of the enjoyment. Singles are for when you want a specific card or the complete set, because you pay market price and know exactly what arrives.

On Perfect Order the comparison is almost brutal: €129.64 for a Booster Box against €470 for the complete set in singles, of which €221 is the top three cards. For the price of one box you buy over half the set, and for the price of two you nearly finish it.
