Scarlet & Violet: the most expensive Pokémon cards

The ranking of the most expensive Scarlet & Violet base set cards with live prices: three of the top four are the same evolutionary line.

Versione italiana: leggila qui.

Scarlet & Violet is the set that opened its era on 31 March 2023. Three and a half years later it is one of the cheapest sets there is: all 268 of its cards come to 674.50 €. And the top of the ranking holds a surprise: three of the top four cards are the same evolutionary line, and it is not the one on the box.

We ran every card in the set through the DarkDex pricing engine and sorted by value. These are real single-card prices, Near Mint, the lowest available across sellers, updated on 7 September 2026.

In short. Gardevoir ex #245 leads at 65.64 €, then Drowzee #210 at 59.04 €, Ralts #211 at 48.16 € and Kirlia #212 at 30.77 €. The 200 base set cards cost 22.25 € together. Prices as of 7 September 2026.

Ralts, Kirlia and Gardevoir: a whole line worth a fifth of the set

The most interesting thing about this set is that its top cards are not the legendaries on the box, but an entire evolutionary line in illustrated form:

CardNumberPrice
Gardevoir ex#24565.64 €
Ralts#21148.16 €
Kirlia#21230.77 €

Together that is 144.57 €, or 21% of the entire set. Miraidon ex and Koraidon ex, the Pokémon on the video game boxes and on the booster packs, sit at 23.40 € and 24.13 € respectively.

👉 It confirms a rule visible in every modern set: the market pays for the Pokémon people love, not the ones being promoted. Gardevoir has been in the game since 2003 and is a long-standing favourite; Miraidon is three years old.

Second place makes the point even harder: Drowzee #210 at 59.04 €, a common card of a Pokémon nobody plays, worth as much as a booster box purely because of how it is drawn.

The same card, eleven cents or sixty-five euro

The effect is easier to see here than anywhere, because the top cards are all common Pokémon with an illustrated version. Every row below is the same Pokémon inside the same set:

PokémonIllustrated versionBase set versionHow many times
Gardevoir ex65.64 € (#245)0.11 € (#086, Gardevoir)597×
Drowzee59.04 € (#210)0.11 € (#082)537×
Ralts48.16 € (#211)0.11 € (#084)438×
Kirlia30.77 € (#212)0.11 € (#085)280×

And the counter-proof is in the legendaries: Miraidon ex exists in five printings, from the #244 at 23.40 € down to the #081 at eleven cents, and its gold version (#253) costs 7.92 €. Koraidon is the same.

👉 The set is not expensive because it contains powerful cards. It is expensive, for what little it is, because it contains four drawings people want on a wall.

What is the rarest card in Scarlet & Violet

There is no official answer, because pull rates are not published. If you mean the signature card, it is the Gardevoir ex #245. If you mean the printing that closes the numbering, it is a Basic Fighting Energy #258 at 6.72 €: one of the widest gaps between the two answers we have measured.

How many cards does Scarlet & Violet have

The set has 198 official cards and reaches 258 with the special printings, for 268 printings in all counting the duplicated versions.

What it costs to complete Scarlet & Violet

Adding up the cheapest Near Mint copy of each of the 268 cards: 674.50 €. Inside that:

  • the 200 base set cards cost 22.25 € in total
  • the 60 special printings cost 651.37 €
  • the median card costs 11 cents, and 208 of 268 are under one euro
  • take out the top ten and the other 258 cards cost 304.58 €

Twenty-two euro for a complete two-hundred-card base set is the kind of number that surprises people who only ever look at the top of the ranking. And since no card in the set costs more than sixty-six euro, the whole collection is reachable for well under a thousand.

In practice you spend more: shipping goes on top and the cards come from different sellers.

Heads up. Prices move constantly. These numbers are a snapshot of the market on 7 September 2026.

The set that opened the era is near the bottom of its own family. That is not an accident: opening sets are printed in enormous quantities, stay in production for a long time and end up in every gift box. Three years later they are everywhere, which is why this one costs a sixth of Prismatic Evolutions.

For a collector the consequence is a good one: it is the easiest set of the era to complete, and no card in it costs more than sixty-six euro.

Singles or sealed

The set is out of print, so packs cost whatever the people holding them decide, and for an opening set that means poor expected value: the most expensive card in it is worth sixty-six euro. Singles win without argument, and a base set at 22.25 € is about as clear a demonstration as you can get.

How to keep an eye on them

On DarkDex you add your Scarlet & Violet cards to your collection and the value updates itself, with every variant kept separate. This is the set the whole era starts from, so keeping track of it is also how you watch what happens to opening sets over time.
