Delta Reign comes out on November 6, 2026, with prerelease events in stores from October 24. You can't buy its English cards yet, but they already have a price: the one of its Japanese twin Storm Emeralda, on sale in Japan since July 31. Same Pokémon, same artwork, same top rarities. Only the collector numbers and the language change.

This page is a forecast: the ranking of the most expensive Delta Reign cards, built on what the market pays today for the same Japanese cards. On November 6 we redo it, at the same URLs, with the prices of the Western cards.

In short. In the Japanese twin set the most expensive card is Mega Rayquaza ex Gold at €450.51, followed by the Special Illustration Rare of the same Mega Rayquaza ex at €271.36 and Raikou ex SAR at €38.44. The top three are worth 80% of the whole set. DarkDex prices of Japanese Near Mint cards on October 19, 2026.

The ranking: the 20 most expensive cards (from the Japanese set)

These are the twenty most expensive Storm Emeralda cards today. The numbers are the Japanese ones: they will change in the Western set, because Delta Reign has a longer main set (103 cards against 76), so every special rarity shifts forward.

Below number twenty the set flattens out: from the twenty-first card down we are talking about two euros or less, and the 75 priced cards of the Japanese main set are worth €15.27 all together, with a median of 11 cents.

The most expensive Delta Reign card will be Mega Rayquaza ex

There is little doubt here. Mega Rayquaza ex is the cover card and it comes in four prints with wildly different prices:

  • regular print #058: €1.86
  • Full Art SR #095: €31.65
  • Special Illustration Rare #110: €271.36
  • Gold #113: €450.51

Between the first and the last there is a 242x gap, for the same Pokémon in the same set. The top two prints alone are worth €721.87, that is 76% of the whole value of the Japanese set (€944.47 adding up every priced card).

That is why, when you open Delta Reign packs, the collector number will matter far more than the name: a Mega Rayquaza ex can be worth less than two euros or a few hundred.

Japanese prices have already dropped: what it means for November 6

The most useful data point for anyone waiting for Delta Reign is not the ranking, it's how it moved. The DarkDex price engine has tracked these cards since August, and in the first weeks the Illustration Rares were worth much more:

cardfirst DarkDex readingtodaychange
Kecleon AR #088€36.51 (Aug 10)€7.63-79%
Kyogre AR #080€32.42 (Aug 10)€7.65-76%
Groudon AR #084€20.32 (Aug 10)€7.81-62%
Growlithe AR #078€10.94 (Aug 13)€6.35-42%
Raikou ex SAR #108€57.51 (Sep 18)€38.44-33%

It's the script of almost every set: in the first days hype and scarce listings drive prices, then opened boxes arrive and mid-tier cards deflate. In Japan it took two and a half months. In the West, with much larger print runs, it usually happens faster.

For collectors: buy Delta Reign Illustration Rares a few weeks after release, not on the first weekend. The top cards drop less, because there are few of them and everyone wants them.

The Special Illustration Rares: Raikou ex is the surprise

After the two Mega Rayquaza ex the third card of the set is not a Mega Pokémon: it's Raikou ex SAR #108 at €38.44. It beats the Full Art of Mega Rayquaza ex, the cover card, and is worth more than twice the SARs of Mega Golurk ex (€17.52) and Mega Golisopod ex (€11.09).

The same Raikou ex in its regular print #024 is worth 27 cents: over 140 times less. It's a beloved legendary with the only SAR in the set that isn't a main-line Mega, and demand rewards it.

Then there is Zinnia's Trust SAR #112 at €27.94, fifth in the ranking: confirmation of a rule that holds across recent sets, Trainer SARs keep their price better than you'd expect.

The Illustration Rares: Groudon, Kyogre and Kecleon

According to the official announcement Delta Reign will have 14 Illustration Rares instead of the 12 in Japan. Today the top three are practically tied:

  • Groudon #084: €7.81
  • Kyogre #080: €7.65
  • Kecleon #088: €7.63

The two Hoenn legendaries being up there was predictable. Kecleon joining them much less so: with Illustration Rares people buy the artwork before the Pokémon. Below the top three come Growlithe (€6.35) and then a row of cards between €2 and €4.

What will change in the Western set

Three things to keep in mind before using these numbers as a price list:

  1. Collector numbers change. Delta Reign has a 103-card main set, so the Mega Rayquaza ex Gold won't be #113. In English previews, for example, Groudon Illustration Rare has already appeared as 111/103.
  2. There are extra cards. The announced special rarities are 37, as in Japan, but split differently: 14 Illustration Rares, 17 Ultra Rares and 6 Special Illustration Rares. Nine cards of the Japanese set also don't have a reliable DarkDex price yet and are left out of the ranking.
  3. Starting prices will be lower. Western cards are printed in much larger quantities. In recent sets the Western versions of the top cards started below the Japanese ones, with some exceptions.

How much will it cost to complete Delta Reign

Adding up every priced Japanese card gives €944.47, and €760.31 of it is the top three cards: 80% of the cost sits in three pieces.

The rest is surprisingly cheap. The 28 priced chase cards are worth €929.20 in total, but take out the top five and the remaining 23 are all under €20, while the whole main set is under €16. For Western Delta Reign the figure will differ, but the shape won't: completing the set without the top three cards will be cheap, completing it with them will cost nearly everything.

It's a theoretical floor, with prices from different sellers and shipping excluded.

Note. This is a forecast based on the Japanese twin set. Prices are DarkDex prices of Japanese Near Mint cards on October 19, 2026 and move every day. On November 6 we update this page with the prices of the Western Delta Reign cards.

How to keep track of them

On DarkDex the Storm Emeralda cards are already in the catalog and the Delta Reign cards arrive with the set. Add the cards you open and the value updates itself, with price history and every print kept separate: your Mega Rayquaza ex Gold is never mixed up with the regular print worth 242 times less.
