Remember the Mega Rayquaza ex full art from the Japanese set Storm Emeralda that doesn't make it into Delta Reign? Now we know where it goes. The Pokémon Company has announced the Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection, and the full art is its promo card.
It's also a product with a first: for the first time ever, the card sleeves and deck box in an official Pokémon product aren't made by Ultra Pro but by Dragon Shield.
In short. The Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection releases on 12 February 2027. It contains the Mega Rayquaza ex full art promo, 3 more promos (Zinnia's Trust, Adventuring Lantern and Mega Rayquaza Cap), the 2 cards of the Legendary Summit Stadium, 65 sleeves and a Dragon Shield deck box, a coin, 8 booster packs and a Pokémon TCG Live code. The price hasn't been announced yet.
Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection release date
Friday, 12 February 2027. That's the date on the official product page on pokemon.com, which lists it wherever Pokémon TCG products are sold.
Price
The price isn't official yet. The product page doesn't list it, and any figure going around today is an estimate. We'll add it as soon as it's announced.
What's inside
The official contents are:
- 1 foil promo card of Mega Rayquaza ex (the full art);
- 3 foil promo cards: Zinnia's Trust, Adventuring Lantern and Mega Rayquaza Cap;
- 2 cards that form one Legendary Summit Stadium;
- 65 card sleeves in a themed box;
- 1 deck box;
- 1 plastic Pokémon coin;
- 8 Pokémon TCG booster packs;
- 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live.
The sleeves and deck box are made by Dragon Shield and feature Mega Rayquaza.
The Mega Rayquaza ex full art missing from Delta Reign
In Japan, in Storm Emeralda, Mega Rayquaza ex also comes as a full art (number 095/076, SR rarity). When the Delta Reign list came out, that card wasn't there: in the West the set has the regular Mega Rayquaza ex, the special illustration and the gold version, but not the full art.
Now it's clear why: it arrives as promo MEP 118 in this collection. Same 5ban Graphics illustration, with the promo symbol instead of a set number.
The other promos and the Stadium
The three promos are cards that already exist in the Delta Reign main set, here in foil:
- Zinnia's Trust, the card of Zinnia, the Trainer tied to Rayquaza;
- Adventuring Lantern;
- Mega Rayquaza Cap.
The Stadium is Legendary Summit, one of Delta Reign's Legendary Stadiums that come in two halves: the two cards, the first and the second, form a single illustration side by side.
Who it's for
The name says it: it's a tournament collection. Mega Rayquaza ex, Zinnia's Trust and the Stadium are meant to be played together, and with 65 sleeves and a Dragon Shield deck box you have everything to bring the deck to an event. For collectors, the reason is the full art: it's the only way to get the Mega Rayquaza ex full art illustration in English.
