Pitch Black (Buio Pesto in Italy) just launched and, as with every release, sealed-product prices are all over the place: some undersell, many overcharge. Here is what they actually cost — from the recommended retail price to the real minimum you pay today — so you don't overpay.
We ran every product through the DarkDex pricing engine and lined up three numbers: the MSRP (what it should cost), the DarkDex market value and the lowest price available right now on CardTrader.

In short. The 36-pack display is already below MSRP (from ~€159 vs €180) and it's the smartest buy if you want to open packs. The Elite Trainer Box, instead, is trading above MSRP at launch: watch out. Prices as of 17 July 2026.

4 rules to not overpay
- The box is the best value. The 36-pack display starts at ~€159 (below the €180 MSRP) and works out to about €4.4 per pack: less than the single-pack MSRP (€5) and far less than a loose pack. If you want to open, buy the box.
- Don't pay more than ~€60 for the ETB. MSRP €54.90, but at launch it trades higher (value ~€61, min €58.53). If someone asks €70+, wait: it'll drop.
- Avoid loose packs. A single runs €5-7, more than its share inside a box. Fine to try, not to collect.
- The bundle is a good middle ground if you don't want a full box: already below MSRP (from €35.42 vs €36).
How to buy them on Amazon at the right price
One detail that makes the difference: on Amazon, for the most in-demand Pokémon products the top offer is often a third-party seller at an inflated price. To pay MSRP you want the offer sold and shipped by Amazon, which for these items works by invitation.
- Open the product page from the links above.
- If the featured price is high and comes from a marketplace seller, look for the "Request an invite" button: Amazon keeps stock at list price and hands it out this way to keep scalpers out.
- Request the invite. If selected, you get an email to complete the purchase at the right price.
- Don't impulse-buy from a third-party offer: it almost always costs more than MSRP. Better to wait for the invite or buy on CardTrader.
